When someone you care about is living with Lyme disease, community becomes more important than ever. Not everyone chooses to stay involved; if you're a supporter reading this, thank you for sticking around for your person.
None of us can survive entirely on our own. Being in a community contributes to all areas of life feeling more fulfilling, often because it serves as a reminder that someone has walked a similar road. Knowing you aren't alone in what you're going through can be transformative.
This is why it is also crucial for supporters to have their own community. That could look like investing in spaces that keep you connected to hobbies you're passionate about. It may also be helpful to have people in your Lyme community beyond the loved one who put the disease on your radar.
