Gen Lyme began as an initiative of Project Lyme. In 2023, Generation Lyme became an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization incorporated in New York State.
new holiday
We are committed to giving our community more than just a support group, but also something to look forward to—and a place to have fun. In 2021, we founded Generation Lyme Day: a new holiday to celebrate the people of the Lyme community.

The Generation Lyme Podcast shares information and insights through personal stories to help people better understand and manage Lyme disease and other chronic illness experiences. On Spotify, the Gen Lyme Pod is ranked in the top 20% of most shared globally and the top 25% of most followed podcasts.
lighting new york city green for Lyme disease awareness
In 2021 and 2022, Generation Lyme partnered with Project Lyme to light the Helmsley Building in New York City green for World Lyme Day (May 1st), beginning a campaign to raise awareness about tick-borne diseases by lighting landmarks green during Lyme Disease Awareness Month, bringing recognition and hope to people everywhere.

Over the years, our Gen Lyme Team has grown to include over 20 volunteers from across the United States and Canada. If you are interested in working with us, visit our volunteer page.
meet-ups
Since 2020, we have expanded our Meet-Up offerings to include calls for Parents, Partners, Supporters, Late-Nighters, International participants, Men, Women, college students, and the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities.
Supporters resources
In 2020 and 2021, we started Meet-Ups for Parents and Supporters. In 2022, we added a Supporters Blog, a Love Languages series, and a new online resource with tips on how to care for loved ones with Lyme.
Lyme disease awareness projects
Generation Lyme has leveraged its community platform and unique perspective to contribute grassroots awareness projects to Lyme Disease Awareness Month every May and a public comment campaign to the US Department of Health and Human Service’s Tick-Borne Disease Working Group.
