Boundaries & Words of Affirmation

Boundaries & words of affirmation

If someone is trying to give you words of affirmation, is it okay to set a boundary around it? Absolutely!

Whether you have a chronic illness like Lyme or are a supporter, you should speak up if the words someone says don't feel right. If you feel comfortable explaining why, it could be an opportunity to deepen a bond.

We can all practice setting boundaries by allowing ourselves to accept kind words without reciprocation. (And no one should ever feel obligated to return a compliment.)

These are just a couple of ways to set boundaries around words of affirmation. If you have done so or are considering it, we'd love to hear about it!
