Erin’s Story

Erin, Writer, Speaker & Lyme Advocate

“We fight through debilitating disease for the slightest recognition. Chronic Lyme does exist, and it has taken lives in countless ways. We suffer not only in an unrelenting physical way, but emotionally and mentally as well. When your story, your pain, and your mountains of debt are all dismissed by medical professionals, it creates a serious disruption in the very chance to heal. To say patients like us do not exist is a negligent twist of the knife.

I have lost half of my life to this disease, and I still continue to fight. I went through all of the recommended standard antibiotic protocols, and my Lyme and its co-infections persisted in a paralyzing fashion. So much suffering could be saved if Lyme and chronic Lyme were discussed as a standard of medical education and training. Lyme has the ability to affect every system and organ in our bodies, and as such, every specialist should be made aware. This would save Lyme patients missed opportunities for diagnosis and valuable time. By discovering the infection early, patients would have a better chance at remission.”
