Tash, Lyme Warrior
“I have had this major arsehole of an illness, Lyme disease, for over 2 years. I am housebound, unable to walk for more than a minute, and unable to drive. I rarely socialize, I lost my career, and I lost my independence in my twenties.
Sadly, my story is probably not that different from anyone else’s. I totally understand how DAMN DIFFICULT it can be.
The neglect, isolation, and grief are tough. But what type of people does it take to be putting up with these crazy, debilitating symptoms? Very STRONG, amazing people. You may not feel that way, but trust me, you are.
Even though we probably would rather not have this crappy disease, I’m sure it has made us resilient, given us extensive personal growth and a very unique perspective on life. Well, I didn’t mean for this to be a pep talk.
Good luck on everyone’s journeys and I’ll be wishing for all of us to have a better quality of life ASAP!”
